Winandy & Associates was formed in 2008. Dr. Jerrold E. Winandy is the principal associate with over 30-years of experience in
wood science and engineering and their technologies.
We provide our clients with expert advice and counsel on the properties
and use of wood and other bio-based materials. Our mission focuses on helping our clients understand and deal with both the
elementary and complex issues related to material performance of wood or engineered composites with special emphasis on their
durability, sustainability, and protection via fire-retardant- or preservative- treatments. Winandy & Associates has
worked with numerous chemical companies, engineering firms, and legal firms to advise them about building code or standards submissions,
forensic engineering of historic and/or remedial structures, and the science and technology of wood treatment chemicals and their
performance in-service, respectively.
